going ... going ... GONE!

Well, we're not gone just yet, but we're hours away from departure. When I say we, of course I mean this blog's creator, Kristina, and her esteemed and awesome high school pal Shalar. When I say gone, I mean on the road, logging some serious miles in the Civic Hybrid, hitting six major league baseball stadiums and enjoying five beachy days on Martha's Vineyard in the middle of the excursion.

Here's an overview of the agenda:
7/20: Houston Astros @ Pittsburgh Pirates
7/21: Tampa Bay Devil Rays @ New York Yankees
7/22: Chicago White Sox @ Boston Red Sox
7/23: Arrive in Martha's Vineyard
7/24: ____________________________ (insert leisure activity of choice here)
7/25: Krismas in July! Much festivating will occur!
7/26: Nurse hangovers from Krismas in July festivations.
7/27: WASHINGTON NATIONALS (go Nats!) @ New York Mets
7/28: Pittsburgh Pirates @ Philadelphia Phillies
7/29: New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles

Then home! It should be an awesome adventure, and lucky lucky LUCKY you, you get to read about it all right here. Follow along as we find out if Kristina gets herself together in time to get on the road with ample travel time to Pittsburgh. Tune in while we see what exactly will be the tipping point to bring the harmonious camaraderie shared by our heroines crashing down. Will it be Kristina singing along with one too many Dar Williams songs? Will it be Shalar pouting when she doesn't get her way? There's really no way to predict. Also, what about the baseball? Who's going to win those games? (Place your wagers now.)

So many questions. Right now it's time for a piece of sleep so I'll be well rested for the first leg of THE NOR'EASTER.

Chances of Kristina waking up and packing in time for us to get to PNC by first pitch: about 25-30%.

Chances of Shalar's delayed luggage arriving in time for her not to be forced to wear the clothes she traveled and slept in yesterday: more like 5%.

I see a book coming out of this. Or maybe a play. In which case the question will be, comedy or tragedy? My guess would be comedy - and a rather low-brow, pratfall-filled example at that.

The cutest Pirates (ignoring Johnny Depp et. al.) are Masumi and Xavier. That is important. Bon voyage and merry Krismas . . .
